Google is considering a move to new offices in King’s Cross, speculation suggests.

According to a report from the Telegraph, the search giant is already in negotiations to buy some 700,000 sq ft of office space at the new King’s Cross Central mixed use development.

A figure of around £200 million is thought to have been earmarked for the acquisition, the terms of were apparently discussed at the recent Mipim property conference.

It’s believed that the search giant, whose London headquarters is in Victoria and encompasses around 120,000 sq ft, would use half of the space for its staff and rent out the remainder to a third-party.

The deal marks a significant expansion drive for the US based company and is expected to see staff relocate from Dublin to the new London offices.

Google’s head of construction Joe Borrett has yet to comment on the company’s plans.
