Centrica and Astellas Pharma are seeking office space in the Staines area totaling some 200,000 sq ft.
The former, one of the country’s largest gas companies, is seeking 100,000 sq ft of space in the town and has enlisted the service of CB Richard Ellis to undertake the search.
Meanwhile, Astellas is looking for 100,000 sq ft of space within a 15 mile radius of the centre. Prime locations in the vicinity include Slough, Bracknell and Weighbridge.
News of developments comes as development company Landid was last week granted planning consent from Spelthorne Council for a new development to include over 300,000 sq ft of office space.
The approval followed 12 months of consultation with Spelthorne Council over its proposals for a mixed-use building.
Although this will be primarily for office use, space has also been earmarked for retail and residential usage. A hotel has also been mooted.
