Blackpool bags big new office space at Talbot Gateway

DocklandsBlackpool Council has signed off a £220m development agreement for a regeneration project that will include over 150 thousand square feet of new office space.

The agreement between Muse Developments and Blackpool Council will see 160 thousand square feet of business and office space built in a wider 10 hectare development.

The regeneration of Talbot Gate will not only provide new office space for Blackpool but will include a new supermarket, shops, hotels and places to eat.

The plans also provide for town centre parking and a new transport interchange for those making use of the new office space.

There is also the possibility that the plans for the regeneration of the area around Blackpool North Station will grow to include a new police headquarters and a courts as well as a new health centre and library.

ReBlackpool is an urban regeneration company that has been working on the scheme for more than 2 years, Chairman Sir Howard Bernstein said: “This project will transform a neglected and under-utilised area of the town into a welcoming family-friendly gateway, encouraging more people to visit, providing better services for local people and encouraging inward investment.”
