High court ruling for Oxford St office space

London office spaceA high court ruling means that Land Securities can go forward with the proposed retail and office space development of Park House.

After months of uncertainty over the Park House development, Land Securities can now go ahead and begin work on the massive retail and office space which faces onto London’s Oxford Street.

The mixed use scheme will be the biggest development in the world-famous shopping street in almost 50 years, and will also be the become the biggest office development in London’s Mayfair of the last 10 years.

The developers are able to go ahead following the defeat in the High Court of two Judicial Review challenges brought by the partners of Fladgate LLP in relation to Westminster City Council’s planning decisions for the retail and office space scheme.   Mr Justice Collins refused to quash the two planning consents which were the subject of the challenge.

The site will include 100,000 sq ft (9,290 sq m) of retail space, 165,000 sq ft (15,328 sq m) of office space and 39 apartments.

Park House is bordered by Oxford Street to the north, Park Street to the west, North Row to the south and North Audley Street to the east. It has been designed by Hamiltons Architects.
