Birmingham City Council have granted developers Kenmore planning consent for the first phase of it’s 180,000 square foot Snow Hill Plaza office space development.
Kenmore secured planning consent for the proposed 15 storey office space development with a unanimous decision from Birmingham City Council. The £75 million project will consist of prime office space above ground and lower floor retail space.
It’s planned that the office space will reach ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating; the huge office development will have a green roof to increase biodiversity as well as including a number of energy saving initiatives.
Daniel Williams, Head of Development at Kenmore, said “This scheme forms part of the significant development plans for No 1 Snow Hill Plaza, which will provide Birmingham with a landmark gateway into the city and further aid the regeneration of the city’s central core, contributing to the city skyline and public realm. The development will bring about a broadening of Birmingham’s prime office pitch, towards Snowhill, and will further raise the bar on the standards and vision of the city’s redevelopment projects.”
The current plans for the 180,000 square foot office space development have been designed to allow the second phase to be easily interlinked. The larger Snow Hill Plaza office space and retail scheme received planning permission in 2007, and will total 450,000 square foot spread over 29 floors.
