The Ards Business Centre in Northern Ireland is to open a two storey development housing 20 thousand square feet of high specification environmentally friendly office space.
The Sketrick House office space development in Newtownards, County Down, already has five tenants lined-up. The development will not only provide office space but conference and serminar facilities.
The office space and conference centre will include many environmental features, such as mini-turbines, photovoltaics and georthermal heating.
90 free parking spaces are also on the Ards Business Centre’s plans, which form part of the area’s regeneration scheme.
Chair of the Council’s Development Committee, Councillor Angus Carson said: ‘Until now the absence of high quality, contemporary office space was hindering the development of local businesses and, in some cases, meant we lost companies to the area. For the Council, supporting and part-funding the construction of Sketrick House, has been an integral part of our plans to ensure this important commercial sector has the opportunity to develop and allow us to continue with the economic regeneration of Ards.’
