600,000 sq ft City of London office space gets go ahead.

office-fitoutPlans for a 15-storey office space on Fenchurch Street in the City of London have been given the green light.

Insurance company Generali have joined with Babcock and Brown through their Saxon Land joint venture for the 600,000 square foot development.

The huge office space has been designed by Eric Parry, who said: ‘120 Fenchurch Street will set a new street scale for this district of the City.   The building will have a presence through a multitude of views, with a crystalline appearance which changes constantly, activated by daylight and weather conditions.’

At the same planning meeting, Stanhope Schroders and the Clothworker’s Company were asked to go back to the drawing board over their plans for 8-10 Moorgate.

The proposed 200,000 square foot Allies and Morrison design included 165,000 square feet of office space and nine flats. Stanhope say the project has been deferred.
