Exeter bucks national office space trend

hk_officeExeter has been found to be “bucking a national trend” that has seen office space lettings rely heavily on business and financial services, according to King Sturge.

King Sturge, the South West’s largest international property consultancy firm, has compiled an Office Occupier Trends report that focuses on large-scale office space transactions of over 10,000 sq ft.

While London and Bristol typically rely heavily on the financial services sector for office lettings, Exeter lettings do not follow this trend.

Large-scale lettings like that of 10,500 sq ft in Renslade House, Exeter city centre, by Natural England exemplify the diversity of office lettings that Exeter is enjoying.

Additionally, Andrew Pearce a partner at King Sturge has noted: “Generally in Exeter there’s been limited new products being built to satisfy demand, but this is good because it creates a steady flow that does not overheat the market or make it too competitive”.

“In the context of the economy in general demand and enquiry levels for office space and particularly Grade A has held up very well.” Pearce continues.
