Demand for office space in Liverpool is outperforming the wider market, according to a report from DTZ.
A survey conducted by the office company found that take-up for developments such as the 130,000 sq ft pre-let to Mersey Travel at Mann Island and three active requirements had helped keep the market buoyant.
In fact, interest in these developments had been so strong that DTZ has predicated that take-up for 2009 could even outperform the five-year average, Property Week reports.
Ken Bishop, director of the national office agency team at DTZ, said: “At a time when the economy is suffering from the impact of the recession, it is good to see that there are so many positives in the Liverpool office market which can be drawn upon.
“Whilst this will ensure that activity in the market continues, the benefits will unfortunately not be felt by all.”
DTZ also claimed that two recently constructed developments at 20 Chapel Street and St Paul’s Square had a total of just 186,000 sq ft of office space remaining.
The Manchester-based real estate services provider employs approximately 120 professionals in the North West.
